Khaoula B. Karaweigh (b. 1995, Rabat, Morocco) holds a Master of Architecture from the National School of Architecture in Rabat, Morocco, as well as a Master of Arts in Painting from the University of the Arts London, UK.
Khaoula has been exhibiting her work from a young age in Morocco and has since showcased her pieces in London and Croatia. In addition to her artistic practice, she also works on set design projects and teaches drawing and painting classes in London.
Her most recent publication is a contribution to Embodied Histories by Dyana Gravina and published by Wysewomen Publishing. This book explores the historical intersection of the medicalisation of childbirth and the moralisation of sexuality, examining the cultural and systemic patterns that shape both public and private experiences.
Karaweigh was shortlisted for the Sequested Prize and currently serves as an associate for Metalore, London.
Khaoula's most recent exhibition and first curatorial project, The Let Down, is a group exhibition addressing the fourth trimester, an often neglected phase of motherhood. This exhibition was held at Turie, London.
Currently, Khaoula is developing a new body of work following a maternity break.
